Get Off the Sidelines

How did this all begin? I have been coaching for several years and love what I do. I learn every day from the amazing teachers and leaders who are doing the heavy lifting and I feel privileged to be a sounding board for them. They challenge me to problem-solve and be fully present. It is not about me- it is about them.

One of my strongest beliefs is that it is so important to find what you are passionate about and stick to it (we did not become teachers for the pay check ;))- and I feel like I have found that calling in educational coaching.

But when a project that I have been working on for 2 years ended... I asked myself, now what?

I often turn the question around when coaching myself and ask what would I tell my mentees if they had such a dilemma and wanted advice.

First, weigh the options... Should I look into consulting for another company or take the leap, challenge myself, lean in, get out of my comfort zone and create something of my own.

The safer choice- the first.

The courageous one (and just by the number of adjectives I have used to describe it to you- it is clear which one I want) the second.

So I listened to myself and started tinkering with a website which evolved into what you are now viewing. I surprised myself as I am a planner at heart but it is always good to do something spontaneous.

Am I nervous? Oh, you bet! But I know that I would always wonder "what if...." if I didn't try.
